Our Environment

Sustainable energy is a word that is heard a lot lately. As anyone who drives a a car or truck can tell you the price of gasoline is getting so high that its forcing people off the roads. The fluctuations in price also present a challenge for commuters and business owners who are finding it increasingly hard to budget based on projected spikes. With biodiesel we can produce an alternative for the diesel engines that power most of our supply networks at a competetive and consistent price - and the best part of all is that since biodiesel is without harmful byproduct, we're not asking the environment to pick up any of the tab.

Of course it is not simply enough to be emission-free if you are going to establish yourself as an ethical producer of alternative energy: while it is a fact that biodiesel can be created from various resources, we do not agree that the answer lies in the production of canola oil expressly for the purposes of biodiesel production. Some problems with canola-based biodiesel include the following:

  • Vast amounts of farm land required for growing corn
  • The comparitively small yield of usable oil (1 gallon per 100 lbs of corn!)
  • Pollution produced by machinery required for harvesting
  • Necessary pesticides used for crop protection
  • Waste of a food resource for fuel when so many people go hungry
  • Failure to utilise more effective methods of biodiesel production like recycling waste from the community

Our biodiesel is 100% produced from recycled waste. No pollution. No chemicals. No waste. No kidding.
